Job description

Farmers & Merchants Bank is a family owned, chartered institution with office locations in 12 communities in Nebraska, and about 100 employees. We have everything the bigger banks have - the newest technology, a suite of diverse products and services, and knowledgeable bankers - but with a hometown feel that's open, friendly, and welcoming.

The following is an outline of duties for a Universal Banker

Essential Functions

  • Provide account services to customers by receiving deposits, loan payments, cashing checks, handling withdrawals, recording night and mail deposits, selling Cashierโ€™s Checks, Money Orders, Safe Deposit Boxes and account offerings. Generally meets the customersโ€™ needs and expectations with other account services that present themselves.
  • Accurately opens and closes accounts in accordance to operating controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures to ensure the safety and security of customer assets.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the New Accounts process of Bank deposit and loan products including preparing new account paperwork, applications, and requesting the required identification.
  • Accurately process transactions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Tracks and Monitors final documentation by reviewing customer files for completeness and following up to ensure all proper documentation is present.
  • Complies with Bank operations and procedures by consulting with and working with the appropriate Bank Officers to ensure that all loans are documented completely and accurately and all filings are made timely.
  • Generally meets the customerโ€™s needs and expectations with other account services that present themselves.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of daily items and official Bank check processing.
  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of year end items and processing.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
  • Works well with others and contributes to team efforts.
  • Complies with Bank operations and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Follows attendance policies in compliance with the Employee Handbook.
  • Completes all other duties or special projects as assigned.
