About This Position

We are looking for a Bakery Supervisor to join our team! The baker will follow recipes and menus, cut baked goods, perform quality checks on ingredients and finished products, use icing and glazes to enhance item presentation. You will also be responsible to clean workstations and equipment as well perform other duties to ensure that all meals go out smoothly.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently prepares a variety of food items in accordance with assigned work instructions and menus.
  • Refers to Daily Prep List at the start of each shift for assigned duties and completes opening and closing checklists daily.
  • Knows and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, recipes, policies and procedures.
  • Handles, stores, labels, and rotates all products properly and in accordance to applicable state laws.
  • Follows assigned instruction to properly stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure smooth serving of food.
  • Assemble and mix ingredients, place mixture on trays, rack trays, and transfer racks to the oven for baking.
  • Wrap baked goods, print labels, and properly label all finished products.
  • Supervise the production of baked goods, manage inventory/stock levels, and en-sure all equipment and facility areas are maintained in good working order.
  • Supervise and instruct inmates in daily bakery operations.
  • Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, tools, equipment, floors, and counters.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or Equivalent, and you must be at least 18 years of age.
  • At least one (1) year of relevant cooking experience required.
  • Prior experience cooking in a cafeteria or large volume production facility a plus.
  • Prior knowledge and experience in a kitchen or large cafeteria setting preferred.
  • Experience with safety procedures as typical in a cafeteria or food service environment.
