Job description

AWS is seeking a Strategy and Business Development leader to join our team in Atlanta, Chicago, Austin, Tempe, New York; Arlington, VA; or Seattle, WA. This is a unique opportunity to join a centralized industry based corporate strategy team responsible for managing strategic partnerships across all of Amazon. As a Strategy and Business development leader, your role is to identify, develop and deliver high-impact engagements. This person will be responsible for independently managing opportunities end-to-end (commonly the most complex challenges in never-been-done before deals), negotiating and driving these high impact partnerships through to completion. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated business acumen to structure best in class partnerships that create value for Amazon, Amazon Web Services (AWS), AWS end-customers, and has experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and/or Automotive sectors. The ability to manage executive relationships (internal and customer-facing) will be critical as this person will negotiate deals that are first-of-their kind, need a centralized advocate, and/or have broader implications to AWS and other Amazon business units that are not immediately obvious.
This key role will be highly visible at the most senior levels of AWS and Amazon. You will need to work collaboratively with internal leadership teams to understand relative advantages and risks, if/when major features should be included to existing roadmaps, along with having a pulse on current Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and/or Automotive industry and vertical trends around innovation, consolidation, and cloud adoption. We dive deep and provide thoughtful technical and business analysis, while being able to balance the ability to quickly gain appropriate context to enable data-driven decision-making.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, works effectively with cross-functional teams, can thrive in a fast-paced setting requiring flexibility, and has the ability to replicate repeatable engagements by drawing insight from our team's previous engagements in industries and verticals. Proving you are an effective negotiator and communicator (written and verbal) is a critical part of this job. AWS Strategy and Business Development is a small, tight-knit team that values authentic, passionate individuals who think creatively and proactively seek out opportunities to advance the growth of initiatives across Amazon's businesses
Key job responsibilities
• Take the lead to identify, evaluate, negotiate, and manage partnerships that can involve marketing/advertising, content, commerce, and technology components.
• Ability to assess technical feasibility for our AWS and Amazon businesses while creating new deal constructs.
• Evaluate the economic and strategic cost-benefit of partnerships.
• Lead cross-functional teams including Product, Operations, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Tax, Accounting, and senior management to execute on the relationships.
• Develop best practices along with utilizing GenAI to enhance your efficiency in managing and tracking opportunities.
• Support the strategic objectives and interests of Amazon's business teams on a global basis.
