Job description

Ralph Sellers Automotive Group, is growing and looking to add an Experienced Accountant to join their Accounting team located in Gonzales, LA. The dealership offers long-term stability fostered by experienced and tenure upper management that believe career growth is a priority for the organization. This is a great opportunity for a detailed-oriented professional with dealership experience who is looking to grow their career in a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, thrive on accuracy, and enjoy working in a dynamic dealership environment that is able to manage deadlines and multiple tasks.  Able to perform Auto Dealership Accounting, Billing, A/P, and A/R tasks to support the daily operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Record retail sales and cost of sales transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Review deals for completeness, accurate, and required documentation
  • Ensure payoffs are processed accurately and timely to receive title 
  • Calculate salesmen commissions and bonuses for monthly settle-up
  • Reconcile semi-monthly payroll for technicians
  • Warranty, Gap, ancillary products remittance and cancellations weekly
  • Prepare schedule adjustments, reconciliations, and month-end closing tasks
  • Support Accounts Payable and Billing to ensure expenses are posted to correct accounts
  • Communicate with F&I, Sales, Accounting managers to resolve any discrepancies
  • Work closely with accounting staff
  • Support other team members and departments as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Required: Minimum of two years in an advanced level accounting role
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Automotive and CDK or DealerTrack experience is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization
  • Confidential and professional demeanor
  • Able to multi-task and manage time effectively
