Associate, Accounting

An Accounting Associate will perform multiple types of reconciliations, settlement processes, and general ledger work to support the dynamic lines of business at Capital one. You will work with a superior team to learn the accounting processes and procedures at Capital One, and have the opportunity to grow your responsibilities in analysis and project work with your team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations for review with management

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for review with management

  • Research and resolve data issues as they arise

  • Identify and drive process improvements

  • Participate in challenging project initiatives with the team

  • Provide business requirements for data collection and sourcing, and provide compliance efforts to outside auditors

  • Perform ad hoc requests

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or military experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in public or corporate accounting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • 2+ years of experience in public, corporate accounting, audit or finance or a combination

  • 1+ year of experience with Google Office or Microsoft Office products, or a combination

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $81,700 - $93,300 for Associate, Accounting


Richmond, VA: $74,200 - $84,700 for Associate, Accounting


Wilmington, DE: $74,200 - $84,700 for Associate, Accounting









Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
