Target Pay: $118,440 to $131,600 per year + discretionary bonus


Role overview:

Prime Residential is seeking a Senior Associate, Accounting to join the Prime Residential Finance team.ย 


The Senior Associate, Accounting, will play an integral role in scaling Prime Residential ("Prime" or the "company") by supporting and modernizing corporate accounting operations. This is a high-impact opportunity for a motivated, solution-oriented professional who enjoys improving workflows, building repeatable processes, and partnering with external advisors in a growing business.ย 


The Senior Associate will report directly to the Director, Corporate Accounting and own core accounting processes for the Company's funds and investment entities and also manage day-to-day activities of the third-party administrator responsible for Prime's management companies.ย

What You'll Do:ย 

Fund and Investment Accounting and Reporting

  • Manage accounting operations and investor records of investment funds and entities, including capital accounts, capital calls, distributions, and investment funding activities.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc investor reporting, including capital account statements and responding to investor requests.
  • Assist with track record updates and performance calculations for the investment portfolio.
  • Monitor liquidity and prepare cash forecasts, capitalization reports, and distribution analyses.
  • Calculate and coordinate management fee accruals and payments in accordance with governing agreements.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts, including variance and fluctuation analysis.
  • Prepare full GAAP financial statements, including footnotes.
  • Lead audit process, including preparation of PBCs, responding to inquiries, and addressing auditor comments.
  • Support annual tax compliance efforts by preparing schedules and responding to tax team requests.

Debt, Capital Markets, and Acquisitions Support

  • Manage debt covenant compliance and reporting in coordination with the capital markets team.
  • Partner with acquisitions and capital markets teams to coordinate new investments, funding activities, and accurately record related accounting entries.

Property and Management Company Oversight

  • Partner with the property accounting team to ensure timely and accurate reporting, including capital expenditure review and depreciation.
  • Oversee and review work performed by third-party accountants for management company, including AP, expense allocations, cash activity, and monthly reporting.

Process Improvement and Ad-hoc Projects

  • Assist in developing, documenting, and improving accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Support process improvement and automation initiatives and other ad-hoc projects as directed by the Director of Corporate Accounting, SVP of Accounting & Tax, or CFO.

Requirements

What You'll Need:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2 to 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate or multi-family investments.
  • Audit experience and CPA a plus.
  • Experience preparing GAAP financial statements and consolidations for real estate partnerships.
  • Strong MS Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with RealPage a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
