We specialize in a full range of new and retrofit construction for industrial, food processing, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio-fuel projects.

Job Summary

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a Project Scheduler. In this role you will work with our nationally recognized Design-Build team assisting with the assembly of schedules and ultimate construction of food manufacturing facilities and stand-alone industrial refrigeration projects constructed across the United States. Qualified candidates will be considered for the Scheduler position, also contributing to project teams as a Project Engineer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with clients, Project Management, superintendents, internal engineers, outside design consultants and subcontractors during conceptual and final design efforts to develop/compile Critical Path Method ("CPM") schedules for major building projects, incorporating civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, process and automation disciplines into schedules.
  • Travel to remote sites to assist Project Management, superintendents and subcontractors in the updating and maintenance of current schedules against the baseline, identifying percent-complete, evaluating impacts to the project's Critical Path and overall risk to timely completion of the project.
  • Assist Project Management in manpower-loading and resource assignment in schedules.
  • Organize CPM schedules so that each is sufficiently detailed, identifying engineering, procurement, prefabrication, construction and commissioning activities critical to the project's completion.
  • Provide technical scheduling advice to other members on the D/B team
  • Assist Project Management in evaluating impacts to schedules resulting from changes in scope or delay impacts by Owners/Others.
  • Provide summary "dashboard" schedules for senior management highlighting progress, risks and corrective actions.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Degree in construction management or equivalent degree/experience (essential)
  • 5+ Years of work experience in construction & scheduling (essential)
  • Experience in the construction of industrial, food manufacturing and/or cold box (refrigerated) facilities
  • Advanced knowledge of building construction means, methods & materials
  • Ability to assemble preliminary and detailed schedules utilizing the most advanced tools within Microsoft Project and other industry-leading scheduling software products
  • Ability to liaise with field personnel and subcontractors
  • Ability to liaise with professionals from all related disciplines
  • Experience with subcontractor management
  • Experience in project management
  • Good communications skills and ability to communicate with team
  • Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
