Job description

Title:

J7 Joint Exercise Planner

KBR is hiring highly skilled and motivated candidates to join a high-performance team and provide support to U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) as a Joint Exercise Planner. An active TS/SCI clearance is MANDATORY.

As a Joint Exercise Planner, you will:

  • Serve as a SME on all aspects of the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) to include the required outcomes and deliverables for each phase.
  • Support the USSPACECOM J7 Exercise Support Branch by serving as a SME on the Joint Training Tool.
  • Review, develop and process force requests to support the JELC for USSPACECOM Tier 1, Tier 2 exercises, and reciprocal events at other CCMDs.
  • Provide SME support across multiple space mission areas including but not limited to SATCOM, GPS, Space Domain Awareness, Missile Warning, STO, SEW, CYBERCOM activities and Space Control.
  • For all aspects of exercise planning, provide SME support on the exercise requirements and operational plans for all CCMDs. Inform USSPACECOM and work interchangeably with EUCOM, INDOPACOM, CENTCOM, CYBERCOM, SOUTHCOM, SOCOM, STRATCOM, NATO, Allies and partners planners. Assist planners and develop TOs for space effects requirements for all participating CCMDs.
  • Provide IMAT development support to assess and validate JOC, GOC, and other operations centers on critical, time sensitive issues.
  • Identify intel exercise objectives, develop TPFDD for each exercise using JOPES, provide JECG augmentation, manage the JMSEL, and collect observations after execution. Provide feedback for AARs.
  • Create and prepare media, presentations and briefings in support of exercise planning.
  • Manage inputs for JMETL and integrate with UJTL. Coordinate assessment of Mission Essential Tasks and subordinate tasks in applicable systems (e.g. JTIMS, DRRS, and JLLIS).
  • Serve as an exercise observer / trainer / assessor as needed. Coordinate and configure equipment systems, support execution of the Joint Training & Execution System. Design and conduct space exercise events for all Joint Staff and USSPACECOM identified exercises, experiments, proof of concepts or live fire events.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and support for conferences such as the Concept Development Conference (CDC); Initial Planning Conference (IPC); Mid-Planning Conference (MPC); Final Planning Conference (FPC); and Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) Synchronization Conference (SYNCH).
  • Maintain exercise SharePoint portals, manage the JMSEL, and use the USTRANSCOM Single Mobility System - SMS to provide estimates for JETP CTP costs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Top Secret clearance with SCI, ACCM and SAP eligibility, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher required; 15+ years relevant experience within the DoD in lieu of degree.
  • Completion of JPME I is highly desired, and JPME II is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in initiating and/or developing Government specified content for USSPACECOM J7 joint exercises, tabletop exercises, proof of concepts, experiments, live fire and rehearsal of concept drills, or similar and relevant Combatant Command experience.
  • Experience with the Joint Training Tool (JTT).
  • Advanced capability initiating, supervising, and developing requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs.
  • Advanced experience providing strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff. Provide detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements. Identify opportunities to optimize and recommend changes / improvements to USSPACECOM J7 client.
  • Experience identifying challenges, making recommendations to the client and providing assistance and support at the strategic level.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Extensive experience developing, memorandums, talking papers, staff packages, and other DoD correspondence.
  • Extensive experience developing senior level briefings. Experience briefing and interacting with senior (GO/FLAG) level officer and senior civilians.
  • Experience coordinating plans between internal and external staff agencies to ensure a coherent effort.
  • Current/relevant space / joint space operations knowledge and background.
  • Previous experience on a Combatant Command, MAJCOM, HHQ, Joint Staff, OSD etc.

Basic Compensation:

$100,000 - $120,000

This range is for Colorado only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:
