Assistant Land Development Manager | Roseville, CA — Leading National Homebuilder
Land Development | Horizontal Construction | Grading & Utilities | Entitlements & Permitting
A leading national homebuilder is seeking an Assistant Land Development Manager to support the execution of residential land development projects from pre-construction through completion. This role works closely with the Land Development Manager and cross-functional teams to help drive schedules, budgets, and field coordination across multiple active communities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing day-to-day land development activities including grading, wet/dry utilities, paving, and off-site improvements
  • Support project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking to ensure projects stay on time and within budget
  • Coordinate with civil engineers, consultants, municipalities, and subcontractors
  • Assist with bid packages, contract administration, and buyout processes
  • Track permits, entitlements, and agency approvals to maintain project timelines
  • Conduct site walks to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
  • Help resolve field issues and coordinate solutions with internal and external teams
  • Maintain project documentation, reports, and communication across stakeholders


Qualifications:

  • 2–6 years of experience in land development, civil engineering, or related field
  • Experience with residential homebuilding or land development projects preferred
  • Exposure to horizontal construction (grading, utilities, street improvements, etc.)
  • Understanding of permits, entitlements, and municipal processes
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficiency with construction management tools (Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, etc.) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
