Job description

Schedule: 20 hours per week (4 hours/day); flexible scheduling required based on organizational needs (some mornings, some afternoons)

The Human Resources Coordinator will lead and direct the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. This position is responsible for driving HR efforts across recruitment, policy implementation, benefits administration, and compliance. The HR Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting internal talent development, organizational growth, and consistent operational practices across the organization.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate the talent acquisition process, including recruiting qualified candidates and collaborating with department managers to determine hiring needs.
  • Maintain and update Team Engine software, including communication announcements.
  • Organize and manage personnel files in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collect and preserve weekly tailgate meeting forms.
  • Process new-hire paperwork and coordinate employee onboarding and orientations.
  • Champion learning and development initiatives, promoting internal growth opportunities.
  • Review and assist in updating job descriptions, the employee handbook, and the safety manual annually.
  • Coordinate timely 90-day and annual performance evaluations with supervisors.
  • Manage benefit enrollment, cancellations, and ongoing employee benefit coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices; regularly review internal policies for compliance.
