What You'll Do
In this multifaceted role, you will assist with internal sales efforts for Principal Securities by developing and implementing sales plans, activity reports, and presale/post sale advisor support. You'll collaborate with marketing, product, and communications teams to align campaigns and support financial professional relationships while meeting internal sales targets. Key responsibilities include providing intermediaries with sales ideas, handling product inquiries, sharing performance data, identifying new opportunities, and supporting external wholesalers with territory management.
  • Initiate and follow up on sales calls to develop relationships with financial professionals, representing a diverse range of products including Mutual Funds, model portfolios, ETFs, SMAs, Index Funds, alternative investments, and retirement solutions.

  • Determine client requirements and offer sales suggestions, respond to product inquiries, deliver performance information, and introduce new products. Record call outcomes in the database, share leads with external wholesalers, and assist corporate programs, important accounts, and conferences.

  • Respond to incoming calls from new or existing financial professionals by offering product details, performance statistics, and case design. Handle requests for sales materials and account proposals. Guide financial professionals to resources like websites, wholesaler maps, newsletters, and product training. Support communication for enhanced customer service solutions and record all interaction and communication outcomes in CRM (SalesForce).

*Incentive component is 50% for this role in addition to salary listed.

Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience plus 1+ year of financial services and broker dealer experience is necessary. Strong preference for advisory or fee-based managed product experience.

  • Strong preference for experience with Envestnet, Morningstar Advisor Workstation, and turn-key asset management platforms (TAMP).

  • Outstanding oral and written communication, training, and presentation skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and mathematical calculation skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

  • Availability to handle inbound and outbound calls to advisors, third-party money managers, and sales reps during prime hours.

  • Limited travel, including overnight stays, may be required.

Licenses must be held in conformity with state and federal rules and company standards as detailed in the existing licensing policy. Preference to those who are already licensed. If not licensed, below licenses are to be acquired within 90 days after hiring:
  • SIE, Series 7, and Series 66

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
