Job description

Title: Coordinator, Marketing & Communications
Reports to: Manager, Marketing & Communications
Location: HQ office in Mount Pleasant, S.C. or remote
Status: Full-time / Salaried
OVERVIEW:
The Coordinator of Marketing & Communications is responsible for the day-to-day execution of US Club Soccer's communications and marketing initiatives. This includes coordinating content for all platforms in alignment with and to catalyze US Club Soccer's goals and philosophies.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and maintain content for US Club Soccer's social media, website, email marketing and app.
  • Support the organization's editorial calendar, ensuring appropriate cadences of strategic messaging across all platforms.
  • Execute strategies to grow US Club Soccer digital channels, challenging yourself and the MarCom department to create content that engages and increases visibility.
  • Assist in content creation. While the MarCom Department has graphic designers and a video content creator, get off the sidelines and take an active role in ideating and creating content. One day, this may mean editing a pre-made graphic template for our newsletter. The next day, this could be conducting interviews at events. And the next day, you might seize on a social trend and edit a brief video clip to publish right away.
  • Develop a daily cadence with the MarCom Manager to monitor and respond to notifications and messages on social media and with the National 1 League App. Following processes that ensure we are responsive is a crucial part of the job.
  • Contribute to web and app strategy and development, particularly through UX and UI perspectives.
  • An ability to write news articles for our websites is a plus. And, no, we never use ChatGPT to write website content.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to refine resources to support member administration, safeguarding and compliance, events, education and partnership efforts. Bring a detail-oriented and creative approach to our presentations.
  • Familiarize yourself with our brand guidelines and always make sure they are adhered to. Find more and better ways to scale US Club Soccer's brand and the brands of its programs.
  • Coordinate with the MarCom Manager to maximize external media coverage of US Club Soccer.
  • Support the MarCom Manager with analytics reporting across all digital channels.
  • Operations, project and event-based support on an as-needed basis.

Some travel and evening/weekend work is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This is an individual who is proactive, motivated and organized, of high integrity, and able to work cooperatively in a team environment while representing US Club Soccer in a professional manner.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution, or equivalent previous work experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing, communications, branding, content creation or journalism.
  • Proficiency with applicable software programs, such as Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Cloud. Proficiency to learn basic photo and video editing is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. High emotional intelligence.
  • Highly refined abilities in time management, prioritization and administration.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently, and produce high-quality output.
  • Knowledge of soccer is preferred, but not required.

We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
