Job description

Spirair, a venture capital backed medical device company, was co-founded by two Stanford Biodesign and Innovation fellows with a shared interest in optimizing outcomes and patient experience through innovation solutions. With a passion for developing elegant technologies that evolve care and enhance accessibility and effectiveness, the Spirair team is partnering with leading ENT advisors and industry veterans to offer treatment options that are both massively impactful and minimally invasive.
We are looking for a Marketing Communications (Marcom) Manager who will work with the Vice President of Marketing to plan and execute on customer- and patient-focused marketing strategies in support of Spirair's commercial objectives. The candidate will manage all marketing communication functions, including the development of marketing materials, videos and animations, social media, conferences, etc. We are looking for a self-motivated, goal-oriented creative thinker and problem solver who loves collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced start-up environment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partner with marketing and sales leadership to develop and continually refine marketing strategies and messaging, being proactive about ideas and solutions.
  • Be a steward of the Spirair brand, ensuring brand and messaging consistency across all outputs.
  • Support the creation, editing, revision and production of marketing and sales tools including brochures, presentations, animations, digital, video and audio content.
  • Manage vendor relationships, working closely with marketing vendors and design agencies to:
    • Translate sales and corporate needs into powerful, effective tools
    • Clearly communicate needs and requirements to vendors for maximum efficiency
  • Support the execution of sales training, customer events, and conferences:
    • Manage logistics including hotel contracts, meeting rooms, and providing on-site support.
    • Manage leads from events including timely turnaround and distribution of leads to sales.
  • Manage corporate website:
    • Responsible for developing new website content as needed.
    • Manage document review process for new content or content changes.
    • Manage website updates in collaboration with website agency.
  • Manage company's LinkedIn and other social media including:
    • Creating content and getting internal approvals.
    • Manage the social media calendar and scheduling posts.
  • Work closely with the sales team to support their marketing needs.
  • Interact with physicians and patients regarding marketing programs and events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Job Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, or similar preferred.
  • 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in marketing communications or related field.
  • Prior start-up, medical device or bio-tech experience a plus.
  • Experience working with physician customers preferred.

Skills, Abilities, and Requirements:
  • Excellent communication and copywriting skills.
  • Experience developing marketing materials and sales tools.
  • Experience managing conferences and other events.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint required.
  • Proficiency with marketing tools including Canva or similar a plus.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Willing and able to travel as needed (up to 20%).

The expected base salary range for this role is $115,000 - $150,000. Compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including experience, qualifications and internal equity. This position is based in our South San Francisco, CA location.
