Job description

Position Summary:

Lead engineering from an electrical engineering perspective in all phases of the design, development, production, testing, operation, and maintenance of electrical equipment and tools while conforming to NQA-1 requirements. Provides significant input and insight to engineering manager and project managers on engineering effort related to the production of PSC designs and products and improves project performance by implementing lessons learned.

Job Description:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Review project drawings/instructions to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions, such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies
  • Leverage significant industry experience to review and approve design drawings as required
  • Mentor and transition advanced industry knowledge to applicable stakeholders, including electrical engineers

Product Support:

  • Provide advanced technical support on projects with minimal oversight
  • Assist Engineering Manager with project assignments, resources, decisions, and estimates as needed
  • Work with Procurement and Facilities who will be leading the purchasing of materials and scheduling of parts (common and procured) to ensure all are being managed and flows smoothly, especially procurement of electrical equipment

Technical Support:

  • Develop/test equipment and apply knowledge of electrical engineering technology with minimal oversight
  • Provide input into project drawings/instructions to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, including possible solutions, such as part redesign, substitution of material of parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassemblies under the direction of the Engineering Manager
  • Ensure product parts and assemblies move from step to step with minimal delay and oversight
    • Responsible for achieving milestones for manufacturing, assembly, and testing
    • Coordinate manufacturing and testing with other departments
    • Ensure appropriate personnel are tasked with training matrix verification
    • Communicate with project manager and directly report any and all issues in descriptive manner (start NCR process when applicable)
    • Ensure proper care of all parts
  • Setup and conduct tests under operational conditions to investigate and analyze results in relation to design specifications and test objectives with minimal oversight
  • Modify or adjust equipment to meet requirements with minimal oversight
  • Develop test procedures, record test results, and provide document recommendations with minimal oversight
  • Operates electrical test equipment and assembles parts as needed with minimal oversight
  • All other duties as required

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Electrical engineering degree required
  • Ten plus years in electrical engineering required
  • Advanced knowledge in electrical engineering design, test equipment, and technology
