Le poste d'Assistante monteureuse constitue une excellente occasion pour toute personne souhaitant rejoindre une division Animation de longs metrages novatrice et en pleine croissance au sein d'un studio d'effets visuels prime. Ce role unique combine les responsabilites du montage VFX et du montage narratif. En etroite collaboration avec l'equipe de production et l'equipe du montage narratif, l'Assistante monteureuse soutient le Monteur de l'animation de longs metrages dans la gestion des taches editoriales internes requises pour le projet.

Grace a une collaboration etroite avec les equipes Layout, Animation et Production, l'Assistante monteureuse doit posseder une excellente connaissance de toutes les versions du projet ainsi qu'un bon sens creatif afin de soutenir les equipes dans leurs propositions d'evolution du montage aupres de l'equipe de montage narratif.

Le poste implique la gestion des bases de donnees editoriales ainsi que la mise a jour continue des informations de montage afin d'en assurer la diffusion efficace aupres des equipes. Vous serez responsable du maintien et de la mise a jour de toutes les versions internes du projet, tout en assistant le Monteur dans l'ingestion des medias et les livraisons aux clients. Au besoin, vous serez egalement appele a assurer les responsabilites du Monteur.

Ce poste s'adresse a une personne possedant un excellent equilibre entre des competences techniques et creatives en montage, et souhaitant contribuer a une aventure stimulante au sein d'une equipe innovante.

Qualifications

  • Experience au sein d'un departement de montage en animation ou en effets visuels (VFX) sur des productions haut de gamme de longue duree (series televisees ou longs metrages);
  • Bonne maitrise du logiciel Avid Media Composer;
  • La connaissance d'autres logiciels de montage non lineaire constitue un atout (Adobe Premiere Pro et Final Cut Pro);
  • Bonne comprehension des formats de film et de video HD, des fichiers, des frequences d'images (frame rates), des resolutions et des differents codecs video;
  • Experience en encodage, transcodage, ingestion et conformation des medias dans Avid Media Composer;
  • Solides competences informatiques et excellente maitrise de l'environnement Mac;
  • Excellente connaissance des outils de montage;
  • Bonne comprehension du processus de production en animation ainsi que du pipeline VFX et de sa terminologie;
  • Experience avec des bases de donnees de suivi des plans telles que ShotGrid ou FileMaker;
  • Experience dans le montage storyboards et/ou de previsualisations;
  • Une connaissance du mixage sonore et de l'enregistrement de bruitages temporaires n'est pas essentielle, mais constitue un atout;
  • Le bilinguisme (francais et anglais) est requis pour ce poste. La maitrise de l'anglais est necessaire puisque ce role implique une collaboration reguliere avec des collegues, partenaires et intervenants situes a l'echelle mondiale, pour lesquels l'anglais est la langue commune de communication.

Key Purpose of the Job:

Set up in 2014, DNEG's Feature Animation division works in tandem with IP creators and filmmakers to create high-end animated features, based out of DNEG's London HQ.

The Assistant Editor role is a great opportunity for anyone interested in joining a fresh and pioneering Feature Animation division establishedwithin an Award winning VFX house!Visit our website to find out more about Feature Animation at DNEG.

This is a unique role that merges the requirements and responsibilities from both VFX edit and Story edit. Working hand in hand with the Production team and Story editorial, the Assistant Editor is responsible for supporting the Feature Animation Editor in handling the internal editorial tasks required by the show.

Through close collaboration with the Layout, Animation and Production teams, the Assistant Editor is expected to have a thorough knowledge of all cuts of the show and a good creative eye to assist the teams in proposing cut developments to Story edit. The role requires maintaining our databases and keeping cut information up to date and well communicated out to the crew. You'll be responsible for maintaining and updating all internal cuts as well as assisting the Editor with ingest and client delivery. When required, you will be asked to cover the work of the Editor.

The role is suitable for a candidate who is has good mix of technical and creative editorial skills and is wanting to be part of an exciting venture.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in either an Animation or VFX Editorial Department on high-end long-form productions (TV/Feature Films);
  • Demonstrate a good level of knowledge and proficiency in Avid Media Composer;
  • Knowledge of other non-linear editing platforms a bonus e.g. Adobe Premiere and Final Cut;
  • Good understanding of Film and HD video formats, files, frame rates and resolutions and familiarity with working with different video codecs;
  • Experience encoding and transcoding and ingesting and conforming to output from the Avid;
  • Good IT skills and Mac literate;
  • Solid understanding of all editorial tools;
  • A good understanding of the Animation process and awareness of VFX pipeline and terminology;
  • Experience using shot tracking databases such as Shotgun or Filemaker;
  • Experience cutting together boards and/or previs;
  • Sound mixing awareness and temp foley recording not essential but experience with this would be valuable.

Salary : 50,000 - 76,000 CAD
