Job description

We are looking for a Translations Department Specialist to assist our Translations Department Manager in working with our Project Managers and Translators to complete document translations for a variety of clients both local and remote.

Responsibilities and Duties

Upon hire, our candidate will work alongside our Translations Department Manager to:

  • Supervise Project Managers and manage a pool of Freelance Translators
  • Hire new Project Managers and Freelance Translators as necessary
  • Oversee translation projects from start to finish
  • Review completed translations for quality assurance before returning them to the client
  • Submit reports
  • Complete other administrative and project-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

We require someone who:

  • Has at minimum a bachelor's degree (in business, linguistics, or a related field)
  • Possesses advanced Adobe Creative Cloud applications (TEST MAY BE ADMINISTERED)
  • Possesses advanced computer skills, especially proficiency in Microsoft Office (TEST MAY BE ADMINISTERED)
  • Possesses exceptional communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Possesses experience working with WordPress or another web content publishing tool
  • Has proven organization and planning skills, and has the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Has a keen eye for detail and an eagerness to learn
  • Lives in the Columbus, Ohio area
  • Has a clean background check and can pass a drug screening

We would prefer someone who also:

  • Possesses experience with Translation Management Systems or Project Management Tools (Flow, Wordbee, etc...)
  • Possesses experience managing employees and/or contractors
  • Possesses at least one year of translation and/or proofreading experience
  • Possesses experience with e-learning Content Management Systems (Moodle, Blended Schools, etc...)
  • Possesses fluency in at least one foreign language (more is a huge plus!!)
