BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Credit Manager coordinates with credit leadership to support sales by managing an ageing portfolio of assigned accounts. They are responsible for monitoring metrics, maintenance of credit guidelines, reconciliation, collections, working with the sales team, and providing risk assessment on assigned portfolios. They are also responsible for ensuring that internal and external customer concerns are overseen in a world-class manner, demonstrating excellent service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages the day-to-day operation of an assigned $75M+ credit portfolio through effective review of metrics and close supervision of staff activity daily.

  • Manages the reconciliation and collection activity of the aging portfolios for Government and Resellers, while also providing support for Canada and acquisitions.

  • Manages the reconciliation and collection activity of a mid-level customer portfolio which will include smaller enterprise accounts and some larger core accounts.

  • Manages manual billing function and any outside third-party partners who support this function.

  • Perform all duties inherent in the role of an MSC Assistant Manager including hiring, termination, performance reviews, APLs, and associate development.

  • Prepares departmental reports including collection reports, associate metric reports, review/release statistics, severe debt reports, risk management reports, etc.

  • Drives the MSC Culture within department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of the MSC mission statement.

  • Coordinates with the credit and sales leadership to implement process improvements in the O2C stream as it relates to process, billing, risk, and account collections.

  • Ensure compliance and monthly sign-off as required by internal audit and E&Y including periodic review and updates to SOWs.

  • Conducts monthly/quarterly meetings as required.

  • Take full ownership of month end reconciliation and reporting processes for assigned portfolios.

  • Responsible for daily readouts and reports to ensure targets and incentives are achieved.

  • Performs monthly APL's and coaches and trains associates on policies and procedures.

  • Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.

  • Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, or equivalent experience in credit/ collections required.

  • Minimum of five years' experience within operational accounting and/or credit and collections

  • Minimum of five years' experience managing, training, coaching, and supporting a credit team.

  • Broad-based business knowledge in relation to accounting, credit, collections, and bankruptcy knowledge in reclamation and preference claims required.

  • Accurately assesses strengths and development areas of team members to provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and recognition.

  • Working knowledge of SAP, Duns & Bradstreet, Equifax, or Experian is desired.

  • Excel, PowerPoint, and Word experience.

  • Strong presentation/communication skills with customers and sales representatives.

  • A strong interest in process development and system enhancements is preferred.

  • Ability to build credibility by openly and regularly sharing appropriate information with others.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Knowledge of financial risk analysis preferred.

  • A valid driver's license may be required.

  • Position requires up to 5% of travel

Compensation starting at $63420 - $95516 depending on candidate location and experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
