Job description

Assistant Apparel Designer

Location: Frisco, TX 75034 (Onsite Mon, Wed, Fri)

Duration: 3 month contract | 24 hours per week


We are seeking an Assistant Apparel Designer to support a fast-paced product and design team on a part-time, 3 month contract. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and hands-on experience in apparel submits, approvals, and production workflows. You will work closely with Technical Design and Product Management to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely execution across all submissions.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Review supplier submits in PLM, ensuring color, materials, and samples align with brand standards.
  2. QA and provide detailed comments on submits, flagging discrepancies and partnering with Product and Technical Design to move approvals forward.
  3. Work closely with a Technical Designer to align on specs, bill of materials updates, and supplier communications.
  4. Make light updates in Illustrator, including silhouette sketches, colorways, and assortment sheets.
  5. Track workflows and timelines in Asana while collaborating with Product Management to keep submissions on schedule.

Top 3 Must-Haves:

  1. Experience with apparel submits and approvals, including lightbox proficiency for fabric, color, and sample evaluation.
  2. Strong attention to detail with a QA and production-focused mindset.
  3. Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator in an apparel setting.

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with PLM systems

• Experience supporting design and technical teams in a production environment

• Ability to manage multiple submissions and deadlines with accuracy


Skills & Tools:

• Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat; InDesign is a plus)

• PLM systems (preferred)

• Asana or similar project management tools

• Strong organizational and communication skills
