We are seeking an Apparel Technical Designer (known internally as Product Development Engineer II) to support the technical design and development of apparel from concept through commercialization for our client, a globally recognized leader in the footwear and apparel industry. You will play a critical part in ensuring product fit, construction, and quality meet performance and consumer expectations. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in garment construction, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Location & Schedule
On-site with a hybrid schedule (4 days onsite / Fridays from home)
Experience Level
2-4+ years of experience in technical design or apparel product development
Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Textile Science, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
What You'll Do
  • Support the development of apparel styles from initial concept through production
  • Participate in fit sessions, take detailed notes, and help identify and communicate fit and construction issues
  • Interpret design intent and translate it into technical specifications and execution
  • Assist in creating and updating tech packs, product specs, and construction details
  • Track prototypes and support the product development lifecycle to ensure timelines are met
  • Collaborate with design, product management, materials, and manufacturing partners
  • Maintain strong organization across multiple styles and deadlines
  • Stay informed on market trends, new technologies, and consumer needs throughout the development process

What You Bring
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and apparel development processes
  • Experience supporting fit sessions and working with technical specifications
