We are currently looking for a full-time, detail oriented and experienced LIHTC Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and hands-on experience with LIHTC, HUD, HOME, and USDA Rural Development for affordable housing programs.
This position will be responsible for reviewing and maintaining resident eligibility files, monitoring compliance with federal and state affordable housing requirements, supporting property management teams, and ensuring files are accurate, complete, and audit ready.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Travels to properties to conduct routine compliance reviews to identify irregularities and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory agency rules and regulations.
  • Assists in alerting management to current regulatory issues; consistently works with all levels of management, providing important information, reports and insight
  • Participates in addressing sensitive compliance issues with management in assigned functional area.
  • Participates in corporate policy discussions related to compliance
  • Assists with the timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as may be required by related entities or partnerships
  • Assists with timely responses to Agency reviews as required
  • Assist residents with understanding lease requirements, community policies, procedures, and available services.
  • .Reviews complex property files and enters data into compliance databases; maintains accurate and complete data in databases
  • Assures all properties are abiding by company policy regarding fair housing.
  • Assists with development and modification of company forms and contracts used in company operations

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
5 years or more experience in LIHTC/Affordable Housing Property Management. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which, in the sole determination of Spartanburg Housing, provides the required knowledge and abilities, may be considered sufficient.
