Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Public Housing Program Assistant is responsible for assisting the overall management of the resident selection process, the re-certification process and, the lease compliance process of the MRHP. This position is also responsible for monitoring the delivery of support services and administering the functional needs assessments for elderly and disabled residents. The Housing Program Assistant will be responsible for the intake and processing of public housing applications. Regular duties require the exercise of mature independent judgment, tact in dealing with all types of people in stressful situations, and thorough knowledge of pertinent housing authority policies.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

1. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business, Public Administration, or Social Services related field or five (5) years relevant experience in a position involving direct contact with elderly persons.

2. Related housing administration or related housing experience. Should possess knowledge of the aging network, aging process, and intervention techniques.

3. Any experience and training which would provide the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above.

SALARY:

Commensurate with experience.
