Description
POSITION SUMMARY: The Account Manager/Salesman is responsible for growing Metal Source's customer base and maintaining strong relationships with existing accounts. Working under the direction of the Chief Commercial Officer, this role focuses on prospecting new business, supporting day-to-day customer needs, and promoting the company's sow and ingot product offerings. The ideal candidate is driven, personable, and committed to delivering outstanding customer experience.
REPORTS TO: Sales Manager
SUPERVISES: N/A
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Customer Development & Prospecting
  • Prospect and acquire new customers through face-to-face cold calling, telephone outreach, and electronic communication
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers through consistent follow-up and reliable service
  • Introduce customers to new and alternative alloy products that meet their needs
  • Represent Metal Source professionally in all customer-facing interactions

Sales Execution & Account Management
  • Support the Chief Commercial Officer in executing monthly and annual sales plans across assigned accounts
  • Identify margin improvement opportunities within existing accounts and report findings to the Chief Commercial Officer
  • Assist in gathering market intelligence including competitor pricing, supply availability, and pricing trends
  • Provide timely resolution of customer issues by coordinating with internal teams

General
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, leads, and account activity
  • Follow 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes
  • Attend regular and timely as scheduled - consistent attendance is an expectation of the position
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support company needs

Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree in Business or related field a plus
  • 1-3 years of sales, customer service, or related experience preferred
  • Experience in metals, manufacturing, or industrial products a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word; strong math skills required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable with cold calling and face-to-face prospecting
  • Organized and detail-oriented with good follow through
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional in all interactions
  • Self-motivated with a drive to meet and exceed goals
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with diverse customers
  • Team player who works well with the Sales Manager and internal staff
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25% of each month

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Physical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping,?crouching, standing, walking, lifting,?and climbing stairs?
  • May be required to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 30 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects
  • Visual acuity required to review data, read reports, and make general facility observations
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer are expected
