Job Description:
Job Summary
The Business Assistant will provide high-level account management support for faculty in the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering including sponsored programs from a variety of federal and non-federal sponsors and university funding. This role will be responsible for leading daily operations with a direct impact on effective account management.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Serving as a team lead within the Business Office, providing training and support to other staff members and working collaboratively as a team to achieve maximum performance in account management.
  • Act as a liaison for both the department and central offices, especially sponsored program services.
  • Interpret, communicate, and implement university financial management guidelines, policies, and procedures; with strong understanding of federal and non-federal guidelines.
  • Exercise department head and departmental fiscal signature delegation by approving purchase orders and travel.

Required:
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Four years of relevant business and/or financial related experience.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Motivated individual with ability to efficiently multi task, work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions and meet deadlines
  • Ability to identify and determine problems, analyze information and implement solutions
  • Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility and handling confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment
  • Proficient in: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
