Business Assistant, Account Management
City: WEST LAFAYETTE
Job Description:
Job Summary
The Business Assistant will support and perform business assistant duties supporting the department of Psychological Sciences. This position will work collaboratively with departmental faculty, staff, students, and other business units or areas to perform various business functions that support the mission of the University.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Account management, billing and cost center management, effort reporting and forecasting.
  • Act as a resource liaison for the department, central offices and operations centers with responsibilities in account management for sponsored programs, general fund and recharge accounts as well as assist with procurement and payroll related items.
  • Primary areas of responsibility are subject to change to meet the needs of the Division/College.
  • The position requires someone who transitions easily and adapts well to differing work styles.

What We're Looking For:
Required:
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Three years of experience in customer service, account clerk, business, or other related field.
  • Experience with procurement.
  • Experience providing a high level of customer service.

Skills Needed:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to practice good time management, organizational skills and efficiently multi-task.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle frequent interruptions, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate a willingness to learn and use own initiative to explore capabilities to enhance productivity and assume responsibility.
  • Ability to make sound judgments and observe confidentiality at all times is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with skills.
  • Ability to explain policies and procedures to staff.
  • Ability to handle interruptions while meeting deadlines with accurate results and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to problem-solve and analyze issues.
  • Ability to maintain productivity and efficiency in a remote environment.

What is Helpful:
  • Two years of University business office experience.
  • SAP, SuccessFactors, and billing/collections.
  • University-related experience.
