Job description

Columbus Distributing Company is a family-owned sales and service corporation proudly distributing Anheuser-Busch, Yuengling, craft, and imported beers throughout Franklin County, Ohio. This position is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with assigned customer accounts while driving sales growth and increasing market share. An account manager manages product sales, promotions, pricing, and inventory within their territory, ensuring accounts are well-stocked, properly merchandised, and supported with the latest brand offerings and industry trends.

  • Drive sales growth and increase market share within key on- and off-premise chain accounts
  • Provide comprehensive account management, including sell-in programs and brand promotions
  • Contribute to the development and management of annual account plans
  • Promote and sell company beer brands while also education accounts on market trends and new products
  • Have prior industry experience in the beer or wine industry
  • Service all accounts to ensure support and territory growth
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders
  • Attend sales meetings to stay informed on updates and industry trends
  • Monitor and ensure correct product pricing
  • Execute merchandising activities, such as placement of promotional signage and displays
  • Rotate inventory to maintain freshness with first-in, first-out (FIFO) standards
  • Process and submit account sales via iPad
  • Ensure optimal shelf placement and product visibility for our products
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales, customer service, account management, or beverage industry experience preferred.
  • Beverage, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or retail sales experience preferred but not required.
  • Basic knowledge of retail sales initiatives, including category management and information-based selling.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and make informed business recommendations.
  • Experience with syndicated data, sales reporting software, and sales performance metrics preferred.
  • Working knowledge of sales, merchandising, and marketing principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with sales technology and mobile sales applications preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to travel throughout the assigned sales territory.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain a high level of organization in a fast-paced environment.
