What Youโ€™ll Do:
  • Review project information to write and edit specifications for projects to comply with project requirements, firm standards, technical conditions, client guidelines, and applicable codes
  • Working from the office master specifications and AIA Masterspec, plan, schedule, organize, and prepare architectural specifications for the various phases/milestone deliverables of projects
  • Review project procurement and contracting requirements and prepare Division 01 General Requirement sections
  • Review consultant specifications for coordination with each project manual and for conformance with firm standards
  • Provide periodic coordination and quality control reviews during document preparation phases
  • Participate in team meetings to obtain project design requirements and define project scope for inclusion in specifications
  • Stay current on building technology, product developments, new materials, code changes, and industry trends
  • Assist in maintaining and contributing to the office master specifications
  • Collaborate with project teams and provide your expertise to make the best project decisions.
  • Evaluate creative ways to bring efficiency to specification and documentation processes.
What Youโ€™ll Bring:
  • 7+ years of experience as an architectural professional with 3+ years of increased responsibility in writing, editing, and developing CSI Section Format 3-part specifications
  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • 5+ years with architectural registration is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, Revit, and AIA Masterspec
  • Possess a high level of understanding and familiarity with the International Building Code (IBC)
  • LEED familiarity required; LEED AP preferred
  • Construction Document Technologist (CDT) certification required; Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) preferred and must be obtained within 3 years of hire date
  • Familiarity with the following is preferred: Autodesk Revit and Deltek Masterworks / Specpoint and VisiSpecs
