Location: Tampa, Florida

Reports to: Principal / Senior Project Manager

Employment Type: Full‑Time

Position Summary

Torti Gallas + Partners is seeking a Project Architect/Project Manager that will serve as the technical and organizational lead for assigned projects, managing consultants, coordinating project teams, and ensuring design intent, quality, schedule, and budget are maintained.

The Project Architect/Project Manager is responsible for leading the design, documentation, and execution of multifamily and mixed‑use projects from concept through construction. They will be a hands‑on project leader who balances design leadership with strong technical expertise and project management discipline. This position requires sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to mentor junior staff while delivering complex projects in a collaborative, principle‑based design culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multifamily and mixed‑use projects through all phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration
  • Translate design concepts into technically sound, buildable solutions while maintaining design intent
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants on assigned projects
  • Guide project teams through design decisions, technical challenges, and schedule milestones
  • Participate in internal design reviews and uphold firm standards for quality and consistency

Technical & Documentation Leadership

  • Lead the production and coordination of construction documents using Revit
  • Ensure drawings and specifications are complete, coordinated, and code
  • Oversee BIM workflows and maintain organized, accurate project files
  • Apply strong working knowledge of podium construction; wood construction experience preferred and concrete experience a plus
  • Utilize Bluebeam for document review, coordination, and quality control

Project Management & Coordination

  • Manage consultant coordination, including structural, MEP, civil, landscape, and specialty consultants
  • Support project scheduling, staffing, and workload planning in coordination with leadership
  • Monitor project progress to meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Assist with project financial management, including fee awareness and scope control
  • Lead construction administration efforts, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and field coordination

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor and guide Staff Designers and junior team members
  • Provide clear direction, feedback, and oversight of delegated work
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and respectful team environment
  • Support the firm's culture of professional growth, technical excellence, and shared responsibility

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture
  • 5–7 years of professional experience in architecture, with a focus on multifamily and mixed‑use projects
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects and coordinating consultants.
  • Strong working knowledge of building codes and construction documentation.
  • Proven experience with podium‑style buildings
  • Proficiency in: – Revit (required in all project phases) – AutoCAD – BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud – Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) – Bluebeam – SketchUp – Enscap
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound professional judgment
