Job description

Architectural Project Manager – Dallas, TX

Lead High-Impact Multifamily and Mixed-Use Projects

A growing design-build architecture team is seeking an experienced Project Architect to help lead the planning, coordination, documentation, and delivery of large-scale multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality, and private commercial development projects in Dallas.

This is an opportunity for a licensed architect who enjoys taking ownership of complex work, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and seeing projects move from early design through permitting, pricing, construction documentation, and construction administration.

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

This role offers the chance to work on significant private development projects ranging from approximately $40M to $125M. You will be part of a collaborative design-build environment where architecture, development, construction, finance, interiors, and portfolio teams work together to deliver high-quality buildings more efficiently.

As a Project Architect, you will have a direct voice in technical decisions, project execution, BIM standards, code coordination, consultant collaboration, and construction-phase problem solving.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will manage and coordinate architectural project efforts while supporting the successful execution of architecture services and contract deliverables. You will serve as a key architectural leader within a cross-functional project team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead architectural documentation, coordination, and project execution from design through construction
  • Develop work plans, project schedules, BIM models, construction documents, and permit sets
  • Coordinate with consultants, engineers, interior architecture, development, construction, and portfolio teams
  • Manage BIM execution, Revit protocols, drawing coordination, and document quality
  • Research applicable building codes and coordinate with authorities having jurisdiction
  • Support permitting, fast-track approvals, ASIs, RFIs, submittals, and construction administration
  • Assist with value engineering, pricing, budgeting, and cost-related design decisions
  • Maintain project records, meeting agendas, minutes, regulatory reviews, and third-party review documentation
  • Create and coordinate specifications, door hardware schedules, product research, and technical project content
  • Lead QA/QC efforts internally and with outside review teams
  • Supervise associate project managers, modelers, drafters, and less-experienced staff
  • Track lessons learned, change orders, and construction-phase updates

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a licensed architect with strong technical knowledge, project leadership experience, and the ability to manage complex documentation and coordination across multiple teams.

Qualifications include:

  • Licensed architect with 8+ years of experience preferred
  • 8–15 years of professional architecture experience ideal
  • Strong background as a Project Architect on multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality, or private commercial development projects
  • Experience with large-scale projects, ideally in the $40M–$125M range
  • Previous multifamily project experience highly valued
  • Wood-frame design experience preferred
  • Experience with Type III and Type V construction highly valued
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD required
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project preferred
  • Ability to create, manage, and coordinate project documents using REVIT/BIM software
  • Strong understanding of building codes, documentation standards, constructability, and consultant coordination
  • Excellent communication, organization, workload management, and deadline management skills
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, professionalism, and team-first mindset

Benefits to the Candidate

This position is ideal for someone who wants more than a traditional production role. You will have the opportunity to lead meaningful projects, influence technical direction, and work closely with experienced architecture, development, and construction professionals.

Benefits may include:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • 401(k) or retirement plan options
  • Professional development support
  • Licensure and continuing education support
  • Leadership growth opportunities
  • Collaborative design-build environment
  • Exposure to major multifamily and mixed-use projects in Dallas
  • Long-term career advancement potential

Who This Role Is Best For

This role is a strong fit for an architect who enjoys both technical leadership and project management. You should be comfortable coordinating across multiple disciplines, managing project milestones, leading documentation efforts, solving technical issues, and supporting construction-phase execution.

If you are looking for a Project Architect role in Dallas where you can take ownership of major projects and grow into a stronger architectural leader, this opportunity is worth a conversation.
