Applications Engineer
Job Summary:
The Applications Engineer serves as the technical liaison between Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Customers. This role is responsible for developing customer-specific application solutions, developing sales order proposals, and ensuring a smooth transition from pre-sales activities to project execution. The Applications Engineer applies engineering knowledge to evaluate customer requirements, define system concepts, and provide customers with solutions.
Essential Functions:
  1. Review customer inquiries and specifications to offer a proposal for a mutually agreed-upon solution
  2. Develop application concepts, system layouts, and recommended configurations.
  3. Serve as the technical point of contact during the pre-sales phase in support of Sales Engineers.
  4. Participate in customer meetings and technical discussions.
  5. Create budgets and write proposals to send out to customers.
  6. Prepare technical documentation supporting proposals and the scope of definition.
  7. Assist with cost estimating and participate in contract review meetings.
  8. Support Engineering and Project Management handoff and answer application-related questions throughout the project lifecycle.
  9. Assist with reviewing Customer Purchase Orders (POs).
  10. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in applications, manufacturing, or sales engineering.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineered-to-order environment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the manufacturing industry.
  • Customer-facing technical experience.
  • Familiarity with specification review and proposal development.

Physical Demands
