Job Overview

The Associate Applications Engineer will support customers, customer service representatives, sales managers, field engineers, agents, and Hubbell subsidiaries by providing technical support and sustaining their efforts in promoting/selling distribution protection and control products. In this role, the Associate Applications Engineer will gain a deep understanding of the capabilities and operation of assigned product lines and not only resolve immediate customer issues but understands that every customer interaction presents an opportunity to foresee and prevent potential future issues. This position serves as the technical and commercial liaison between the PCORE facility and assigned OEM customers, supporting both direct customer relationships and indirect engagement through the Hubbell Sales Organization. Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, and Technical Support teams to promote PCORE products and services and ensure customer requirements are effectively addressed.

A Day In The Life

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluates customer's RFQ and product application and specifies a PCORE product to meet the customer's needs. The OEM Specialist is fully engaged in the bid process to customers.
  • Evaluates customer concerns and communicates these concerns to production control, engineering, and/or marketing department individuals. Works with engineering and production departments in problem-solving customer requirements.
  • Evaluate trends on current and new product opportunities at the Transformer OEMs. Communicates this information as appropriate.
  • Influences customer decisions through personal visits and product presentations to achieve the best long-term results for PCORE Electric.
  • Assists in developing pricing strategies on the bushing products to optimize company profits.
  • Assists in developing literature and sales tools needed to market bushing products.
  • Completes reports for Marketing dept. as needed which are assigned by SR. Product Manager.
  • Participates in industry/customer functions and prepares reports/presentations as required for these and other events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What will help you thrive in this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline or a Technical Associate degree may be considered with 2 years of relevant experience
  • 2+ years of relevant experience, preferred
  • Utility engineering, manufacturing, and/or engineering experience related to utility products and OEM applications; strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with the following platforms is a plus:
    • PowerPoint
    • Power BI
    • Salesforce
    • SAP

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel domestically and occasionally internationally for customer visits, meetings, or training
  • Ability to move throughout manufacturing and office environments, including navigating stairs and ramps
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic means
  • Ability to work for extended periods using a personal computer and standard office equipment
  • Ability to attend meetings, give presentations, and participate in onsite customer or facility walkthroughs as required
