Our client is a precision manufacturing company seeking an experienced Anodize Shop Manager to lead their anodizing department in Valdese, NC. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for daily production, staff supervision, bath chemistry, and quality standards across the finishing operation. The ideal candidate will bring a strong metal finishing background, NADCAP-compliant process experience, and proven ability to run a shop floor safely and efficiently.
Job Responsibilities -
- Direct daily anodizing operations from prep through bath processing, finishing, and inspection.
- Supervise shop staff, including task assignment, scheduling, training, and safety enforcement.
- Monitor bath chemistry and maintain tanks, equipment, and service schedules.
- Enforce quality standards for coating integrity, dimensional accuracy, and finish.
- Maintain compliance with chemical handling, PPE, waste disposal, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with purchasing, scheduling, and QA to meet delivery and spec requirements.
- Keep accurate batch, maintenance, chemical usage, throughput, and reject rate records.
- Drive process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Job Requirements -
- 5+ years of experience working in a Manufacturing/Finishing environment.
- Experience leading teams as a Manager or Supervisor.
- NADCAP experience required.
- Hands-on background in anodizing, metal finishing, or electrochemical surface treatment.
- Working knowledge of black oxide processing.
- Strong grasp of coatings, bath chemistry, and quality control practices.
- Familiarity with chemical handling, PPE, and waste disposal requirements.
- Mechanical aptitude for tank and equipment maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training or formal coatings education preferred.
