Job description

The Senior Analyst, Product Development supports the definition and delivery of digital product capabilities across the Amex Offers ecosystem. This role partners closely with Product, Engineering, UX, Analytics, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into product requirements and deliver customer-centric product capabilities that drive business value.

The individual is responsible for defining product requirements, supporting prioritization and planning, coordinating cross-functional execution, and ensuring successful delivery of product capabilities from concept through launch. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and the ability to navigate ambiguity while driving alignment across cross-functional teams.

The below represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, product operations, business operations, strategy, consulting, or a related role supporting digital products or technology initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience translating business, customer, and stakeholder needs into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and other product documentation.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to partner effectively with Engineering to understand APIs, system integrations, data flows, technical dependencies, and implementation tradeoffs.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build alignment across cross-functional teams and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities, navigate ambiguity, and drive successful product delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working on customer-facing digital products, personalization, marketing technology, or platform capabilities.
  • Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, AI-enabled products, or emerging digital technologies.
  • Experience supporting product delivery across complex enterprise technology environments with strong governance, risk, and compliance requirements. 

Product Development & Capability Definition

  • Support the definition and delivery of digital product capabilities across customer-facing experiences, personalization, and marketing initiatives.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineering, UX, Analytics, and business stakeholders to translate customer and business needs into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional documentation.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions, backlog refinement, and solution discussions while documenting business processes, customer journeys, workflows, implementation approaches, and operational impacts.
     

Product Delivery & Execution

  • Coordinate end-to-end product delivery across multiple initiatives, ensuring successful execution from planning through implementation, testing, launch, and ongoing optimization.
  • Support backlog management, prioritization, PI planning, dependency tracking, and release planning to enable successful product delivery.
  • Partner with Engineering and QA to support test planning, end-to-end testing, defect triage, release readiness, and post-launch monitoring.
     

Cross-Functional Collaboration  

  • Build strong partnerships across Product, Engineering, UX, Analytics, Marketing, Operations, and business stakeholders to drive alignment and successful delivery of product capabilities.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure product capabilities meet enterprise standards, governance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate product status, implementation plans, risks, dependencies, and key decisions while driving alignment across cross-functional teams.
