An airline customer service agent works either in an airport or a call center. While working in an airport, you provide customers with baggage assistance, confirm travel reservations and itineraries, complete flight check-ins, and print tickets using a point-of-sale system. You also handle all purchases with cash and credit cards, answer customer questions, resolve issues with delayed and canceled flights, and help with lost/damaged luggage. Other responsibilities include completing and filing the paperwork associated with each task. Some shifts require working at night, on weekends, on holidays, and include overtime. Working in a call center, your duties involve assisting with or completing flight reservations for customers, confirming itineraries and itinerary changes, and answering travel questions about topics like baggage rules, costs, and loyalty program details. You also solve problems regarding flight booking, flight changes, and other inquiries.
