Position Summary
The Communications Graduate Assistant assists with different duties such as graphic design, social media management, digital advertising, and more. The Communications Graduate Assistant reports to the Assistant Director of Strategy and Marketing.
This is a student position open to current UIW graduate students.
Essential Functions
Graphic Design:
- Assist with design requests for the Office of Admissions including but not limited to: posters, flyers, social media graphics, and other relevant recruiting marketing materials.
- Ensure all designs are consistent with the UIW brand guidelines.
- Utilize Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, and Canva to create recruiting materials.
Social Media Management:
- Assist in the administration and maintenance of UIW Admissions social media profiles including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Social Media Content Creation:
- Assist in the creation of social media content for UIW Admissions, including captions, graphics, short-form videos, stories, reels and other recruitment-focused materials.
Digital Advertising:
- Assist with managing and monitoring digital ad campaigns and reporting.
Copywriting:
- Assist with writing and copy-editing content for Admissions website, emails and marketing materials.
- Ensure all information is accurate and complete and meets the UIW style guide.
Website Management:
- Research UIW's Admission web pages and academic program pages thoroughly to develop and/or refine content on the website.
- Contribute to website review, updates, and reporting on website analytics.
Events:
- Assist in Admissions campus events and campus tours as needed and deliver excellent customer service.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Excellent writing, public speaking, time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA
Required Education
Current UIW graduate or doctoral student.
Required Work Experience
Experience with social media strategy implementation, graphic design and copy-writing.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from any subject area, Communication, Marketing or related fields
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
None.
Work Hours
Monday- Friday, at least 20 hours per week.
