Job description

Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider

Pay Range: $57.69 - $91.34 per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.
The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Nurse APN is a key member of the Rapid Response Team, at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, providing critical care expertise during acute patient decompensations.
Working in collaboration with the medical team and nursing staff, the APN performs rapid clinical assessments and initiates interventions in response to adult medical alerts and clinical emergencies.
Responsibilities include obtaining patient histories, conducting physical exams, writing orders and progress notes, evaluating diagnostic tests and prescribing appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies.
The APN educates patients and families, documents teaching and discharge summaries, and serves as a clinical resource for bedside staff.
Active participation in hospital-wide initiatives, including the sepsis reduction program, is expected.

Qualifications:
General
  • 1+ years of APP experience required
  • CDS and DEA
  • BLS and ACLS

APN
  • Current New Jersey Registered Nurse license
  • Current New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse License
  • NP Certification

PA
  • PA License
  • NCCPA

Essential Functions:
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and implement evidence-based interventions for deteriorating patients
  • Write progress notes, orders, and document teaching/discharge instructions
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including lab work, radiology, and ECGs
  • Collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure timely escalation and appropriate care planning
  • Prescribe and manage pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments as needed
  • Participate in sepsis screenings and bundle compliance
  • Communicate critical findings and clinical updates to the primary team and nursing staff
  • Support bedside nurses in clinical decision-making and patient management
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policy
  • Assist with procedures when indicated and appropriate
  • Provide patient and family education around disease process, treatment plan, and prognosis
  • Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives
  • Provide off-shift coverage and respond to emergency calls throughout the hospital
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the RRT leadership or attending physicians
