Job description

FSA, a rapidly growing professional services company delivering highly qualified personnel in support of the government's mission, has an immediate vacancy for a Payroll Analyst in its Program Management Office.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for compiling/processing bi-weekly payroll for a workforce of approximately 1,500 employees.
  • Respond to field supervisor and employee questions regarding payroll and timekeeping issues.
  • Review timesheets for accuracy and compliance with written policies and procedures, as well as defined Federal and State wage and hour rules and regulations.
  • Review timesheet reports for accuracy prior to pay period closure and post ADP processing.
  • Import data from Deltek Costpoint timesheet system into ADP Vantage payroll system.
  • Reconcile ADP and Costpoint data.
  • Execute monthly reconciliations of payroll ledger accounts for compliance.
  • Perform file maintenance for new hires, terminations, tax setup, and banking information in ADP.
  • Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors.
  • All other duties as assigned and required.

This position requires 1-2 days per week in office (Herndon, Virginia)
A Payroll Analyst must meet the following qualifications:
  • Associates degree in relevant field; or Payroll Certification and 1 additional year of (related) full-time work experience; or High School Diploma/GED and 2 additional years of (related) full-time work experience.

A Payroll Analyst must have the following skills:
  • Two to five years' experience in payroll processing.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within payroll.
  • Government Contracting experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with ADP Vantage payroll system, CostPoint, Deltek Time & Expense applications strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Knowledge of payroll, garnishments, and benefits distribution.
  • Multitasking abilities.
  • Good research and analysis skills.
