This position reports to:
Quality Manager
While hourly pay rate is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay starting at $23-$28 per hour. Schedule: 7:00AM - 3:30PM Monday - Friday
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to inspect and test parts, products, and systems sourced from suppliers. Each day, you will ensure that only compliant items are released to the next stage and finally delivered to the customer. You will also showcase your expertise by employing standard test protocols and applying specifications to ensure quality.
The work model for the role is: {onsite}
You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with ISO9001 or applicable internal standards.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine inspection criteria and acceptance standards.
  • Compile and review all required FAI documentation, including dimensional reports, material certifications, and process records.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve FAI discrepancies and support product approval.
  • Support internal and external quality audits as required.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and purchased parts to verify conformance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Identify, tag, and report non-conforming products and initiate corrective action requests as needed.
  • Document inspection results and disposition materials (accept, reject, or return to vendor) based on findings.
  • Operate and maintain precision measurement instruments including Verniers (calipers), micrometers, thread gauges, go/no-go gauges, hardness testers, and comparators.
  • Use X-ray equipment and other non-destructive testing (NDT) methods to inspect metal parts and detect internal defects.
  • Assisting in specific quality-related training, promoting a passion for quality and integrity in all actions, with a focus on result orientation.
  • Reporting quality issues data, ensuring adherence to quality management system at all stages.
Qualifications for the role
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 year of hands-on experience in a Quality Control or Quality Assurance role requiring the use of common inspection tools and gauges preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
  • Practical experience with precision measuring instruments: Verniers/calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, go/no-go gauges, hardness testers, and comparators.
  • Experience performing or supporting First Article Inspections (FAI) a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify non-conformances and document findings accurately.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with production staff, supervisors, engineers, and peers.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with ability to make sound quality decisions under time pressure.
  • Demonstrated leadership and initiative in a team-oriented work environment.
