Job description

Ad Partnerships Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager, Advertising Partnerships to join our team at Philo, a leading vMVPD. As a Manager, Advertising Partnerships at Philo, you will help maximize ad sales revenue and support our programmatic partnerships & direct sales team. The Manager of Advertising Partnerships will be responsible for managing and growing programmatic, reseller and data-driven advertising partnerships, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the success of our advertising initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new advertising partners, including demand-side platforms (DSPs), supply-side platforms (SSPs), resellers, and data and measurement vendors
  • Support contract negotiations and deal structuring for programmatic and reseller agreements, partnering with senior leadership on strategic or high-value terms
  • Lead day-to-day programmatic trafficking within SSP platforms, including deal setup, floor pricing, targeting parameters, and troubleshooting delivery or discrepancy issues
  • Act as a technical and account management resource for the direct sales team, advising on inventory availability, targeting capabilities, and supporting campaign lifecycle management from proposal through delivery
  • Partner with Ad Operations to support deals through the implementation process in the ad server.
  • Monitor and analyze ad partner performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize performance
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of existing and new partners across programmatic and reseller channels
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, marketing, product, and legal to ensure that advertising initiatives are aligned with the company's overall strategy
  • Provide regular reporting on partner performance, revenue growth, and operational health
  • Stay current on industry trends, ad tech developments, and best practices, sharing insights with internal teams and partners

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ years of experience in programmatic advertising, with hands-on experience in SSP trafficking and campaign/deal management
  • Strong technical understanding of programmatic infrastructure, including DSPs, SSPs, ad servers, deal/PMP setup, and floor pricing mechanics
  • Experience supporting or coordinating ad server trafficking for direct-sold campaigns, or strong familiarity with ad ops workflows
  • Comfort operating as a technical liaison between sales, ad operations, and external partners
  • Strong understanding of CTV and experience working with premium video inventory
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with partners and internal teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and act on data
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, exciting environment while maintaining an unwavering dedication to quality work.
  • Some exposure to or comfort supporting contract negotiations (not sole ownership of deal-closing)
  • Comfort using AI tools to accelerate day-to-day work (e.g. Claude/Claude Cowork, Gemini) for tasks like data analysis, reporting, and partner research

Compensation: Includes annual salary, company stock options, and health benefits. Salary is determined by experience and location:

  • San Francisco, New York City: $150K - $180K
  • Boston, DC Metro, Los Angeles, Seattle: $140K - $170K
  • Denver, Atlanta, Austin, Las Vegas, Sacramento, Chicago: $130K - $160K
  • Texas, Florida: $120K - $150K
