Job description

Residency in or relocation to Louisiana is preferred for all positions.

The Accounts Receivable intern will do the following:
  • Assist in collecting premium payment and claim refund receipts received daily to meet the scheduled time frame for compiling, balancing, encoding and endorsing of all checks for bank deposits.
  • Assist in performing account research to obtain current or prior payment history of premium receipts for accurate information to reconcile each account.
  • Assist with cash report preparation to reconcile and balance daily cash receipts against member accounts.
  • Assist with sorting of incoming mail to expedite the processing of group, individual premium and claim refund receipts.
Required Qualifications:
  • Degree program(s) / Current Status: Undergraduate, recent graduate or graduate level student in Accounting, Business, MBA or related field.Must have completed a minimum of 60 hours in an undergraduate program to be considered. Concentration in Accounting is preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA: 3.0 preferred; 2.5 minimum cumulative GPA.
Other Qualifications:
  • The ability to comprehend, document, calculate, visualize, and analyze are required
  • Strong mathematical and analytical reasoning skills are required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and other applications are required.
