Job description

Position Summary
The Grain Implementation Specialist plays a critical role in delivering successful software implementations for SSI grain and ag retail clients. This position partners closely with customers and internal teams to plan, execute, and advance the adoption of SSI solutions through effective project management, business process analysis, training, and ongoing consultation. The Implementation Specialist serves as a trusted advisor, ensuring solutions align with client operations, regulatory requirements, and agronomic best practices. This is a full-time salaried position and requires 20-40% travel depending upon project needs.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management amp; Documentation
• Define and document project scope, objectives, and deliverables, including process flows and business requirements
• Develop, maintain, and execute detailed implementation, conversion, and rollout plans
• Coordinate tasks, milestones, and communications across clients, internal teams, and stakeholders
• Document system configuration requirements, enhancements and change requests with accuracy and clarity
Training amp; Adoption
• Design and execute comprehensive training strategies to ensure successful system adoption
• Develop, maintain, and deliver client-facing training materials and documentation
• Provide hands-on training and knowledge transfer tailored to client roles and responsibilities
Product Expertise amp; Client Support
• Maintain expert knowledge of the SSI product suite through formal training and ongoing self-study
• Monitor system updates and enhancements to proactively advise and support clients
• Serve as a subject matter resource for agronomy workflows, crop production systems, and seasonal operational practices
• Ensure implemented solutions support regulatory compliance, sustainability initiatives and reporting requirements
Collaboration amp; Continuous Improvement
• Collaborate closely with internal implementation, product, and support teams
• Maintain clear, consistent and timely communication with all stakeholders
Experience / Skills Required
Required:
• Strong foundation in the grain industry, grain accounting and financial reporting, and seasonal farm operations with the ability to apply knowledge across diverse client environments
• Working understanding of grain regulatory compliance
• Background in futures, basis and hedging concepts
• Ability to translate operational processes into system configuration
• Proven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze, optimize, and re engineer grain processes for operational efficiency
• Capacity to quickly learn, understand, and effectively train others on SSI’s software solutions
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
Preferred:
• Experience in ag retail sectors such as energy, grain, agronomy, and/or accounting
• Working knowledge of nutrient management, soil health, and crop planning
• Background in software implementation, consulting, or customer facing technical roles
Additional Competencies:

• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to lead and support change management initiatives and guide users through process improvements
