Job Description

KSB SupremeServ is seeking an experienced Accountant to join our finance team in Port Arthur, Texas. This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys detailed accounting work, understands how financial accuracy supports business decisions, and wants to contribute in a manufacturing and industrial service environment.

The Accountant will support core accounting functions including accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close support, and general financial reporting. This position will work closely with Finance, Purchasing, Operations, and other internal teams to ensure transactions are accurate, timely, and properly documented.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and review accounts payable invoices for accuracy, approvals, coding, and supporting documentation.

  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain proper supporting documentation.

  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.

  • Prepare account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.

  • Support sales tax calculations, payments, reporting, and documentation.

  • Assist with cash forecasting and financial reporting.

  • Help prepare schedules related to income statements, balance sheets, and general financial performance.

  • Support finance leadership with ad hoc reporting and analysis.

  • Maintain organized financial records and support audit readiness.

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced business environment. This person should be able to balance recurring accounting deadlines with day-to-day problem solving and communication across departments.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

  • Experience with accounts payable, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger support.

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

  • Ability to read and understand income statements and balance sheets.

  • Strong Excel and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work with confidential information and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with state sales tax calculations, filings, payments, or reconciliations.

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience

  • Experience supporting cash forecasts or cash flow reporting.

  • Experience preparing financial reports, forecasts, or budget support schedules.

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial services, repair, or project-based operations.

  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, Infor, or similar systems.
