Account Manager Landscape Maintenance & Business Development (Bozeman & Helena)

The Account Manager is responsible for the retention, growth, and overall management of a portfolio of landscape maintenance and snow removal clients throughout the Bozeman and Helena markets. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients while overseeing service delivery, crew performance, customer satisfaction, enhancement sales, and new maintenance business development.


The Account Manager is responsible for achieving revenue and profitability goals through exceptional client service, contract renewals, enhancement sales, and the acquisition of new maintenance accounts. This position provides leadership to field teams and works closely with Operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety standards are consistently met.

All duties will be performed under the direction of the Branch Manager.


Essential Responsibilities:


Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned clients, ensuring exceptional customer service and long-term satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and client meetings to assess property conditions, identify opportunities, and address concerns proactively.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with property managers, HOAs, commercial clients, and residential customers.
  • Manage contract renewals and maintain high customer retention rates.


Maintenance Sales & Business Development

  • Actively develop new landscape maintenance opportunities throughout the Bozeman and Helena markets.
  • Prospect, network, and generate leads through referrals, industry relationships, community involvement, and business development activities.
  • Prepare proposals, estimates, and presentations for maintenance services.
  • Meet or exceed annual maintenance sales goals and gross margin targets.
  • Maintain and manage an active sales pipeline within the company CRM.
  • Collaborate with branch leadership to execute market growth initiatives and strategic sales objectives.


Enhancement Sales

  • Identify, estimate, and sell out-of-contract enhancement opportunities including landscape improvements, irrigation upgrades, seasonal color, drainage solutions, and other value-added services.
  • Present enhancement recommendations to clients and follow opportunities through closeout and billing.
  • Meet short- and long-term enhancement sales goals.


Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Manage profitability of assigned accounts and overall book of business.
  • Monitor labor budgets, production rates, and job costing.
  • Approve employee time records and track attendance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing of completed work.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, contracts, proposals, and sales activities within CRM software.
  • Follow company procedures for estimating, approvals, and contract management.


Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of landscape maintenance account management experience.
  • Proven track record in maintenance sales, account growth, or business development preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of crew leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Experience estimating landscape maintenance and enhancement projects.
  • Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices, irrigation systems, plant material, and snow management operations.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, estimating software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including seasonal snow operations.
  • Landscape Industry Certified, Snow Professional Certification, and/or Pesticide Applicator License preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
