The SmartSource team is passionate about leveraging its expertise to empower clients to excel.

SmartSource will afford you an exciting career opportunity. We offer a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Most importantly, you will be provided the support and environment to excel and succeed with an industry leading company. If you are enthusiastic, highly motivated and looking for a great opportunity, we encourage you to apply today.

Empower Growth. Elevate Experiences. Build Relationships That Matter.

About the Role
As a Business Development Executive at SmartSource, you’ll be at the forefront of driving meaningful growth by connecting companies with innovative event technology solutions that elevate their brand experiences. You’ll be joining a supportive and high-performing team where your voice, perspective, and expertise will directly influence how we expand into strategic markets.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for building trusted relationships with clients, uncovering their unique needs, and guiding them toward tailored solutions that deliver real impact. You’ll work across inbound and outbound channels, lead thoughtful conversations, and act as a strategic partner throughout the customer journey.

This is a highly collaborative position that offers opportunities to lead, mentor, and shape the future of our sales approach — all while developing your career in an environment that values inclusion, curiosity, and continuous learning.

Who You Report To: VP of Sales, Event Solutions

Responsibilities:

  • Be the face of SmartSource: Act as the first point of contact for potential clients through both inbound and outbound outreach, creating meaningful connections that lead to long-term partnerships.
  • Engage with purpose: Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers through multi-channel engagement (email, phone, social, in-person).
  • Lead with empathy and insight: Run thoughtful discovery sessions to understand client goals, challenges, and opportunities — aligning our solutions to support their success.
  • Deliver value through every touchpoint: Create compelling proposals, responses to RFPs, and business cases that reflect client needs and SmartSource’s strengths.
  • Be an ambassador for our brand: Represent SmartSource at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to elevate visibility and open doors.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work closely with Marketing, Solutions, and Account Management teams to ensure a seamless client experience from first conversation to signed agreement.
  • Support and inspire others: Share your experience with newer team members, contribute to refining messaging and strategies, and foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and growth.
  • Stay organized and data-driven: Maintain accurate CRM records and provide valuable forecasting insights through Salesforce and HubSpot.

Requirements:

  • A passion for connecting with people and helping them solve challenges through technology and service.
  • Strong communication skills — you listen actively, speak confidently, and write clearly.
  • Proven success navigating complex sales processes and engaging executive-level stakeholders.
  • Experience using CRM and sales tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoom, and Slack.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Familiarity with modern sales methodologies (e.g., MEDDICC, BANT, SPIN Selling) is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistently delivering new revenue growth by securing high-value opportunities with enterprise and mid-market clients.
  • Building and advancing relationships that lead to repeatable and long-term partnerships. Account penetration beyond one.
  • Shaping SmartSource’s market presence by representing the company at key industry events, creating thought leadership opportunities, and opening doors into new markets.
  • Driving strategic pipeline creation and velocity by identifying opportunities aligned with SmartSource’s core growth priorities.
  • Partnering cross-functionally with Marketing, Solutions, and Account Management teams to deliver a seamless client experience and accelerate deal cycles.
  • Serving as a trusted advisor — influencing client strategy and positioning SmartSource as the partner of choice for digital event and IT solutions.
  • Elevating the sales team by mentoring junior teammates and contributing to continuous improvement in process, messaging, and go-to-market execution.
