Job description

Location: Calhoun, GA
STARK is seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Operator to join our Fabrication team in our Calhoun, GA warehouse. In this role, you will operate industrial sewing equipment to fabricate high-quality carpet products while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and craftsmanship throughout the production process.
Hiring/Retention Bonus up to $1,000 within the first year!

Job Responsibilities:
  • Operate industrial sewing machines, including single-needle equipment, to fabricate carpet products.
  • Read and interpret Fabrication Work Orders (FWOs), specifications, and sewing instructions.
  • Locate and verify the correct yarn and materials required for each work order.
  • Align and sew materials according to seam allowances, stitch types, and tension settings.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet STARK's quality standards.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following company safety policies.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and assist with other production tasks as needed.
  • Work safely and efficiently in a warehouse environment, including seasonal temperatures exceeding 95°F in the summer and cooler temperatures during the winter.

Job Requirements:
  • One (1) year of industrial sewing or machine operating experience preferred (training available for qualified candidates).
  • Basic knowledge of industrial sewing equipment and textile materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders and production instructions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
