Job Description
Progressive Care Unit RN - PCU
Schedule
- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour
- Schedule: Weekdays with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
Assignment Details
- Patient ratio: Approximately 1:5
- Census/Beds: Daily census of ~20; 22 beds
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Required: ACLS and BLS (BCLS) certifications
- Experience with Epic charting
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care for adult patients in a Progressive Care environment.
- Monitor telemetry, recognize dysrhythmias, and respond to critical changes in patient status.
- Administer medications and treatments, including titration of drips as per facility protocols.
- Conduct patient assessments and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans.
- Assist with post-transplant care and management of renal and hepatology-related conditions.
- Perform procedures such as bladder scans, CAPD exchanges, and recovery from kidney biopsies and paracentesis.
Compliance / Notes
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Ohio fingerprinting required with a strict deadline
- RNs must have a valid compact or state license at the time of submission
