Job description

Position: Electrical Engineer
Reports to: Director, Engineering
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Pay Range: $80,000 - $115,000
We consider several factors when preparing a compensation package for successful candidates.
Superior is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team. They will be responsible for supporting senior engineers and engineering managers with engineering design and construction deliverables from concept to completion assigned to them by the Director of Engineering. The Engineer will work under the supervision of senior engineering staff. This role is based at our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with production of engineering design deliverables including BIM models, drawings, and specifications
  • Assist with creating engineering calculations such as heat calculations, pull calculations, and power system studies
  • Support other Superior teams including VDC and Field Operations with QA/QC, reviewing construction documents, and writing RFIs
  • Assist with the production of in-house engineered documents such as feeder schedules, means and methods summary documents, and QA/QC commissioning templates
  • Assist senior engineers with providing field observations

Your Character Traits
  • You're highly organized, great at prioritization, and have a strong attention to detail
  • You're a great communicator, a team player, and ready to work with colleagues across our jobsites and organization

Your Expertise
  • Required: You've earned your Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Bonus Points: You have 1-5 years of experience in consulting engineering or electrical construction
  • Bonus Points: You have experience in design, construction, and installation of building electrical systems
  • Bonus Points: You have experience with NFPA, NEC, NFPA 70E and other applicable codes and standards
  • Bonus Points: You have experience in preparing power system studies (Short Circuit, Selective Coordination, Arc Flash)
  • Bonus Points: You have project experience in mission critical, healthcare, industrial, or commercial sector
  • Bonus Points: You have experience in preparing heat calculations, and MV cable pull calculations
  • Bonus Points: You have your Professional Engineer (PE) certification in the State of Ohio
