Under limited supervision, a Safety Trainer identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems. This role will operate both in the field and administrative office to ensure Company-wide compliance with federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules.

Essential Functions

  • Implement and conduct safety training programs focused on Agriculture and Store operations.
  • Identifies opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems.
  • Collaborate with all departments for comprehensive safety training.
  • Ensure employee comprehension and uphold Company established safety standards.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness.
  • Conducts safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations.
  • Inspects safety equipment; recommends replacements.
  • Reviews accidents and incidents reported by employees and visitors to our facility.
  • Drafts and submits post-accident reports and work orders related to health, safety, and security operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of company safety policies and applicable Occupational
  • Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards with particular emphasis on Agriculture Safety.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel throughout facility to conduct safety training and inspections.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
  • Documented training skills and experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills with public speaking experience.
  • A clean motor vehicle record.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

The employee will primarily operate within professional offices and retail settings but could also be expected to work outside in all weather conditions and must have suitable clothing. They must have the ability and willingness to work in adverse conditions, not just including extreme weather but enclosed spaces and heights up to 8 feet. The employee will be expected to work around and with machinery that distributes loud noises and exhaust. Personal Protective gear is provided by the employer. This position does require handling and operating of heavy equipment which may introduce a high risk to slips, trips and falls.
