Agile Business Analyst

VG Systems is seeking a mid-level Agile Business Analyst to join a small team supporting one of our long-standing Federal Government customers. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, able to independently contribute to the team's mission, enjoys putting a keen eye towards details, and has a strong desire to learn and grow in an idea-nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements.
• Translate business requirements into clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure a shared understanding of requirements and priorities.
• Facilitate communication and collaboration between business stakeholders and development teams throughout the agile lifecycle.
• Utilize Microsoft Azure DevOps to manage and prioritize the product backlog, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of features.
• Prepare for and participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  
• Continuously monitor and improve Agile processes and practices to enhance team productivity and effectiveness.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience working as a Business Analyst in an Agile software development environment.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and best practices.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Azure DevOps for managing software development projects, including backlog management, sprint planning, and reporting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent writing and documentation skills, with ability to produce high-quality deliverables. 
• Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail and the ability to think critically and solve problems.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  

Experience & Certifications:

• 5 years of experience working on IT software/application support and development as a business analyst or similar role.
• 2 years of experience managing product backlogs in Microsoft Azure DevOps (preferred) or JIRA.
• Bachelor's degree in related field (or 4 additional years of professional experience)
• Relevant certifications such as ScrumMaster (CSM/PSM) or PMI Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) are a plus.
  

* Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance from the Federal Government. 

* Customer location is in Washington, D.C. but only requires minimal on-site presence. Option for full remote if customer approves based on candidate.
