Aegis has partnered with an industrial automation company that is looking for a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer with a passion for mechanical design of complex CNC machinery and success in project delivery for entire product lifestyle to join the team in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead design and product development of CNC machine tool and automation products consistent with market requirements, available technology and competitive pricing.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Experience in designing machine castings and with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and familiar with FEA.

• Prepares and supervises the preparation of mechanical engineering designs, drawings, specifications, documentation, and schedules including cost, time, and resource estimates.

• Design for manufacturing, assembly, and service of complex machinery

• Evaluates ROI, contains and monitors development costs, and product and production costs, periodically reports on project progress to senior management. Adheres to ISO 9001 design process and documentation.

• Works in a multi-disciplinary environment interacting with sales, service, marketing, and engineering internationally. Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams and environment.

• Experienced in managing global projects with multi-national supply chains and in evaluating potential suppliers, analyzing product specifications, and assessing supplier global support capacity.

• Establishes and implements product test procedures and execution to ensure design and performance integrity.

• Provides technical assistance and support to machine assembly and field service personnel and leadership and guidance to junior engineers to grow their experience and knowledge.

• Exhibits product leadership by conducting market surveys and competitive analyses and reports and advises new products and updates to existing products to improve and expand the Companies' product portfolio.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering.

• 8 years mechanical design, experience specializing in CNC machine tools and casting design.

• Well versed in design and analysis for static, dynamic, thermal, pneumatic, and hydraulic mechanics including Finite Element Analysis.

• Expert level SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

• ISO 9001 design process and documentation
