Job Overview:

FAR Group is looking to hire a Protestant Chaplain to provide spiritual, religious, and emotional care as well as conduct Protestant and nondenominational worship services for patients of the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center (SLPC) and St. Lawrence Addiction Treatment Center (SLATC)

Job Details:

• Job Title:Protestant Chaplain
• Location: Andrews Psychiatric Center, Ogdensburg, NY

1 Chimney Point Drive Ogdensburg, NY 13669.

• Schedule: Full time (40hours week).

Requirements & Skills:

• Must possess bachelor's degree or master's degree in divinity or religious studies, or a religious degree from a seminary.
• Must meet the qualifications to be ordained as a clergy member in a recognized Protestant Church.
• Must possess two years' experience as a Chaplain.

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the Pastoral Care Program at SLPC, schedule & coordinate services with other chaplain(s), and complete annual review and revision of the Pastoral Care Policy.
• Conduct three services weekly on a day mutually agreed upon between the facility and the contractor.
  • One service at the adult inpatient building, which may include patients from the SLATC.
  • One service at the Children & Youth Inpatient Program.
  • One service at the Sex Offender Treatment Program (SOTP) building.
• Provide spiritual care and counseling to patients and their families.
• Facilitate faith, spirituality, and related classes to patients in the adult inpatient, CY inpatient, & SOTP programs.
• Attend meetings, including treatment team meetings, as requested by the facility, department, or treatment team.
• Attend community events, as requested by the facility.
• Facilitate therapeutic group sessions for patients.
• Provide any of the aforementioned services to the patients at SLATC, when requested and approved by the facility Business Office.
• Complete other related duties as requested by the facility.
