We are seeking a driven and skilled Civil Engineer with experience in both transportation and public works to join our dynamic team. As a Civil Project Engineer, you will coordinate, design, and manage projects that shape our transportation landscape and improve our community's infrastructure.
About the job:
The functional areas and responsibilities of a Civil Project Engineer are as follows:
•Design and develop a variety of transportation and public works infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, intersections, drainage systems, sidewalks, and other public facilities.
•Perform complex geometric design calculations for horizontal and vertical alignments.
•Prepare detailed construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
•Coordinate closely with utility providers to identify and resolve potential conflicts during design and construction.
•Update and maintain as-built records and mappings to accurately reflect project outcomes.
•Collaborate with architects, surveyors, other engineers, and public stakeholders to ensure projects meet community needs and align with a broader vision.
•Manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
•Supervise certain construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
•Obtain necessary permits and approvals from government agencies and public utility providers.
•Stay up to date on the latest engineering standards, materials, and technologies in both transportation and public works sectors.
•Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
•Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona.
•Minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation project engineering and/or public works projects.
•Expert-level proficiency in geometric design principles and software.
•Strong understanding of drainage, stormwater management, and utility infrastructure.
•Knowledge of construction methods and materials for various project types.
•Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
•Ability to effectively communicate with technical staff, project stakeholders, and the public.
