Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the management of water treatment facilities starting at execution through completion. Responsibilities include delivering projects on time, within budget, and within scope. Successful candidates will prepare and execute management of projects for the company. Experience with sea water reverse osmosis (SWRO) is highly preferred. The Project Manager must be located Tampa market, with ability to travel up to 15-20% as needed (throughout U.S, Caribbean, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Specify for designers’ appropriate instrumentation, valves, pumps, piping, etc. to complete mechanical design of new water treatment equipment the company builds or procures.
  • Direct and approve the work of mechanical AutoCAD designers completing mechanical and process drawings.
  • Assist in the development of process designs for plants including PFD, P&IDs, and function description.
  • Prepare and manage the project schedules, project budgets, and customer requirements enraging milestone dates are achieved through project completion.
  • Create the project scope of work for all resources needed as well as working with sub-contract engineering firms and consultants, and working with procurement to ensure all materials needed are being managed and help coordinate shipping and logistics for orders for the project.
  • As required, assist business development with the costing on new plants proposed by the company.
  • Work in a team environment with Business Development, Finance, and Engineering to ensure all projects are successfully delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Assist in the completion of operational procedures, EHS, and HAZOP reviews for new plants built by the company.
  • Work with equipment suppliers to ensure proper component selection on company projects.
  • Construct detailed Bills of Material (BOM) for company projects.
  • Enter detailed BOMs and appropriate purchase requisitions into company ERP system.
  • Work with operations staff on plant improvements and engineering change orders (ECO).
  • Perform factory acceptance (FAT) of purchased skidded equipment.
  • Preform plant QA/QC construction and commissioning duties.
  • Direct the work of mechanical designers, project assistance and other project staff as required.
  • Manage changes to the project, including project schedule and project costs, using appropriate verification techniques and change order management.
  • Make Decisions: Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks to make decisions in the best interests of the organization.
  • Effectively communicate and escalate any issues to management as needed in a timely manner.

Key skills and Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Office Projects, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Expert in the reading the interpretation of mechanical drawings such as P&IDs, PFDs, and GA’s.
  • Must be able to direct design personnel.
  • Experience in mechanical design of various piping materials including PVC, stainless steel, and FRP.
  • Experience with the design of mechanical support systems for piping, valves, pumps, and instrumentation.
  • Experience handling budgets a minimum of $1-5 million.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with everyone involved in the project from the internal engineering and business development teams to the external customers.
  • Working knowledge of process controls, SCADA systems, and functional description of process design.
  • Excellent client-facing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, bi-lingual a plus.
  • Solid organizational skills including a high attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Self-motivated team player who values timelines, cooperations, collaboration, and effectiveness.
  • Behave ethically: understand ethical behavior and business practices to ensure behavior is consistent and aligned with values of the organization.
  • Must live in the Tampa market and have ability to work hybrid schedule (2 days per week in the office required).
  • Ability to travel up to 15-20% as needed throughout U.S, Caribbean, etc.

Education and Experience

  • BS in Engineering required, preference in Chemical, mechanical, or commensurate preferred.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • 2-5 years related experience in Project Engineering/Management required.
  • 5 years related experience in the water treatment industry is required. Experience in membrane-based water treatment highly preferred.
